PENSACOLA, FL – Families in Pensacola are invited to a drive-thru food giveaway to help them get ready for Thanksgiving. Starting at 10 A.M. on Monday, November 23rd, The Watson Family Foundation, a 501(c)(3) founded by local attorney Aaron Watson and his wife Kimberly Watson, will host a food distribution event serving one thousand families. Participants must remain inside of their vehicles as volunteers place groceries inside of the their vehicle trunks. The food distribution will occur at the Town and Country Plaza (behind the old Morrison’s Cafeteria), located at 1720 West Fairfield Drive in Pensacola, Florida. Some of the event sponsors are The Watson Law Firm, Aaron and Kimberly Watson, Fred and Tia Robbins, Larry and Kathryn Watson, Julius and Genevieve Weems, Mr. Carmello Colley other local contributors.
This holiday tradition began in 2017, where 200 families were provided a complete holiday turkey feast. Each year, the amount of food distributed has increased. To meet the overwhelming demand in the Pensacola and surrounding communities, this year’s turkey dinner giveaway will accommodate the first 1000 families, twice the amount distributed last year. The meal will include a whole frozen turkey, stuffing, green beans, and corn.
The foundation president, Kimberly Watson, said, “In light of what’s going on in the world today, it is even more important to give families a reason to smile for Thanksgiving.” The meals will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis until all of the groceries are gone!
