Watson Firm attorney Marlon White was invited by Court TV to participate as a television legal analyst on the high-profile first-degree murder trial of Ashley McArthur.
McArthur, 42, was accused of killing 33-year-old Taylor Wright. McArthur and Wright were friends when Wright entrusted McArthur to keep $34,000 on Wright’s behalf while she finalized divorce and custody proceedings. It was alleged that McArthur murdered Wright when she requested that McArthur return the money.
As a criminal defense attorney and former prosecutor for the State of Florida, attorney White appeared live on Court TV to give his in-trial analysis as the State of Florida presented its case against McArthur. Attorney White provided detailed analysis of the defense attorneys’ strategies and tactics in defending the charges. Attorney White also provided insight into the process of criminal trials and the nuances of Florida’s criminal Jury instructions as they related to the murder case. The week-long trial ended with the jury returning a verdict of guilty. McArthur was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 25 years.
